Call for Expression of Interest
This Expression of Interest (EOI) invites applications from Kenya to participate in the MARKUP II initiative focused on the development of coffee packaging centres. These centres will play a vital role in enhancing value addition within the coffee industry while addressing key challenges faced by MSMEs.
The MARKUP II programme will provide comprehensive packaging support to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the coffee sector, including:
- Access to Packaging Equipment
- On-Site Packaging Services
- Design & Branding Assistance
- Supplier Linkages
- Expert Guidance
Qualified candidates are also encouraged to attend a packaging training scheduled from Monday, July 21st, to Tuesday, July 22nd, which will be held in Nairobi, Kenya.

BE RECOGNISED AS A CHAMPION OF QUALITY IN EAST AFRICA APPLICATION PROCESS NOW OPEN
The process for the 2025 EAC Regional Quality Awards, the region’s highest recognition for excellence in quality performance, was launched on 14th April 2025 in Arusha, Tanzania.
The primary objective of the EAC Regional Quality Awards is to foster a culture of quality within the East African Community by encouraging the adoption of standards and quality management practices across EAC enterprises. This, in turn, enhances competitiveness and stimulates trade.

The digitalisation of business processes enhances efficiency, transparency, communication, and traceability. It enables real-time tracking, ensures compliance, and supports data-driven decisions. These improvements lead to increased profitability and sustainable growth, particularly in industries reliant on global trade and stringent quality assurance measures.

NAEB & MARKUP II Rwanda:
Are you a coffee exporter interested in joining over 11,000 producers, traders, consumers & other players at the WOC 2025 in Geneva?
The project has secured and paid for:
- a country pavilion for Rwanda - this pavilion will be administered by NAEB.
- Aa dedicated cupping session to which buyers will be invited.
The project will offer to selected businesses
- a return flight ticket to Geneva
an amount of USD422 to contribute towards accommodation and subsistence expenses

QPII est un cours pratique de six jours où les PME du café approfondissent leurs connaissances théoriques des principales méthodes de transformation de la cerise au café vert, apprennent les meilleures pratiques et acquièrent une expérience pratique d'un système de contrôle de la qualité pour le traitement post- récolte.
- Ce formulaire de candidature en ligne est réservé au secteur du café au Burundi.
- Ce formulaire vise à identifier les personnes possédant un niveau de connaissances théoriques et pratiques et une expérience en transformation du café arabica, susceptibles d'être adaptées au cours avancé de niveau CQI QP2, qui se tiendra pendant la saison de récolte de l'arabica au Burundi en 2025.
- Les personnes gérant ou exploitant des stations de lavage de café arabica ou occupant des postes de contrôle ou supervision qualité du café seront privilégiées.
- La sélection sera effectuée en coordination avec les partenaires du projet dans le pays concerné, et un entretien est possible.
Complying with the EU Regulation on Deforestation-free Products
This course introduces the new EU regulation on deforestation-free products (EUDR) which entered into force in June 2023. The regulation requires EU companies to ensure they do not source products associated with deforestation.
The course begins by explaining the key concepts and terms of the regulation. It then presents a variety of scenarios featuring companies directly or indirectly affected by the EUDR, outlining the responsibilities of businesses in different regions and parts of the supply chain.
Participants will also learn about the minimum criteria for technological solutions to facilitate compliance with the EUDR, and will receive step-by-step guidance tailored to various types of companies to meet the EUDR requirements.
